Organic growers and those interested in learning more about certified organic farming are encouraged to attend the eighth annual Organic Food and Farming Education and Research (OFFER) Field Day, which will be held August 28 at the Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center in Wooster.

A conference session on Innovative Technologies for Organic Farming within the Annual International Meeting of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers , June 29-July 2, 2008, in Providence.

Day 1 of the symposium: undergraduate and graduate students research presentations.
Days 2 and 3: presentations and discussions on; Weed management, issues in organic vegetable and fruit management, Organic dairy production, Economic and marketing research in organic agriculture, Organic livestock production (other than dairy) and crop-livestock integration in organic systems and Insect and disease management strategies on organic farms. Presentations will be limited to 5 minutes each followed by small group round table discussions.

Field day by OFFER; Organic Food and Farming Education and Research (OFFER), Ohio Sate University
OFFER announces its upcoming Field Day on Thursday, August 30, 2007. An organic grains portion of the program will run 1:00 - 4:00 PM and will start at OARDC's West Badger Farm (see directions in the flyer). The organic horticultural crops portion of the program will run from 4:30 - 7:30 PM and will start at OARDC's Fry Farm (see directions in the attached flyer). Come to one or both for free.
